Lesson tracking for independent tutors
Track prepaid lessons. Let students see what's left.
LessonSum helps you keep a clear record of purchased credits, completed lessons and corrections. Manage one-to-one lessons and small groups, while each student can check their own balance and history.
A focused lesson ledger that fits alongside the tools you already use.
Students can check their own lesson balance and history in a read-only view.
Every lesson, accounted for.
My balance
Sample animation · teacher action → scoped student update
Start with the balances you already have.
Add a starting balance.
Add a student and enter the credits they have available. Keep different lesson types in separate balances.
Confirm what happened.
Record the lesson and review attendance and credit use for each student before saving.
Make the record easy to check.
Let students view their own balance and lesson history, without giving them access to other students' records.
Remaining lesson credits
Give every remaining lesson a clear explanation.
A balance is more useful when you can see how it changed. Keep the starting balance, added credits, recorded lessons and corrections together, so a question about remaining lessons has a record behind it.
Group lesson tracking
Teach together. Keep each balance separate.
Record one group lesson while reviewing each student individually. Attendance and credit use can differ between students, and each person keeps their own remaining balance.
Lesson credit history
Fix the deduction, not the entire history.
Reverse an incorrect deduction for one student or the remaining deductions from a lesson. Keep the original record and the correction visible, without undoing unrelated lessons or later purchases.
For students
A simpler answer to 'How many lessons do I have left?'
Give students a read-only view of their own lesson balance and history. They can check the changes behind the number without seeing the rest of your student list or your internal notes.

Add a shared record, not another all-in-one system.
Continue arranging lessons and receiving student payments through your existing tools. Use LessonSum to record the credits students purchase and the lessons they use.
A lesson ledger—not a school system.
LessonSum focuses on lesson credits and shared records. It does not process student payments, create invoices, replace your booking system, or manage a school.
Interactive demo
Try a lesson. Then try correcting it.
Use the sample below to record a small-group lesson, check a student's view and reverse an incorrect deduction. The demo uses made-up records and does not change a real account.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
What does LessonSum help a tutor track?
LessonSum keeps records of prepaid lesson credits, credit use and corrections for individual students. It helps tutors explain a remaining balance and lets students check their own lesson history. It is not a booking service, payment processor or learning management system.
How can students check their remaining lessons?
LessonSum provides a read-only view of a student's own balance and lesson history. The tutor controls access to that record. The view is limited to that student's information and does not expose other students' balances or internal teaching notes.
Can students in a group lesson have different balances?
Yes. A group lesson contains individual student records rather than a shared pool of credits. The tutor reviews attendance and credit use for each person. A student who is not charged keeps their credit even when other members of the group use one.
What happens if I deduct a lesson by mistake?
Correct the affected deduction instead of overwriting the balance. LessonSum keeps the original entry and the reversing entry in the history. You can correct one student or the remaining deductions from the lesson without undoing later purchases or unrelated lesson records.
Can LessonSum track prepaid lesson packages?
It can record purchased credits and their use for each student and lesson type. Purchases of the same lesson type contribute to a combined balance. The current scope does not allocate usage to individual packages or manage a separate expiry date for every purchase.
Do I need to change my calendar or payment method?
No. You can keep arranging lessons and receiving payments through your existing services. LessonSum is the record of lesson credits and usage alongside those tools. This does not mean that every calendar, payment service or spreadsheet automatically synchronizes with LessonSum.
Does LessonSum collect tuition or create invoices?
No. Students pay through the arrangements you already use. The tutor records the related lesson credits in LessonSum. A recorded credit purchase is part of the lesson ledger; it does not verify a bank transfer, process a payment or create an invoice.
Are low-balance reminders sent by email or text?
The current scope uses in-app notifications, not email or text messages. Students need to open the service to see the relevant information. Do not rely on LessonSum to deliver an immediate reminder to someone who is offline.
